A heap of useful links that you may or may not be aware of that have been very useful to me in the past:
- RunKeeper
One of the many FREE GPS tracking tools that work with smartphones to log all your stats while you run. Along with posting the data to the Runkeeper site and to social media. - MapMyRun
If you haven’t got a smart phone or don’t fancy lugging out on a run you could always use this tool. Again this isn’t the only one. Useful for plotting routes before you go out and do the do. So you know how far you’re going to run. You can then fill in the time on your return and get your stats. - Run and Become
My favourite running shop. Always busy and you can see why when you visit. Very helpful staff who can advise and let to try before you buy, especially important with running shoes. - Wiggle
Found out about this online store while looking for cycling gear. If you know what you want to buy then Wiggle is a great way of getting it at a good price online. - Serpentine Runners club
I am a member of this well renowned running club in London, but I am ashamed to say I don’t attend nearly as often as I should. But a great way to run on a regular basis with other runners in a race situation and get to improve your fitness and speed. - Runner’s World
Pretty much covering everything as this is the online version of the magazine. Especially useful for finding out about when particular events are. If you’re prepared to subscribe then you get all the editorial content and advice too. - Marathon Runners Diary
Specifically geared to marathon runners. Also offering charity information, training advice and dietary tips. - Runners’ Medical Resource
Happens to us all. If you’ve ever had shin splints or knee pain you might need to get some advice to point you in the right direction.
